The Role - Behaviour Mentor -Wandsworth
It is urgently needed for a secondary SEMH school to hire a long-term behaviour mentor. Providing support to students with challenging behaviours, SEMH issues, and ADHD is the primary purpose of this Behaviour Mentor role. One of the responsibilities of a Behaviour Mentor is to provide 1:1 support both inside and outside of the classroom as part of the duties of the position. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will be helping to manage the child's behaviour while also supporting the child's learning by working with the child's teacher to achieve the best results possible. Having training in physical intervention is highly desirable.
The School - Behaviour Mentor - Wandsworth
Located in Wandsworth, this excellent provision caters for students with SEMH needs and is located in an area high in poverty. It is important to note that there are some children and young people who have special educational needs which are classified as "social, emotional and mental health" needs (SEMH). There are several different ways in which these needs can manifest themselves, including becoming detached or isolated, as well as displaying challenging, disruptive or disturbing behaviour on top of this. A team of Behaviour Mentors, Teachers, and other support staff work around the clock to assist students in re-integrating back into mainstream schools in order to help them achieve the best results. At this provision, you will have the opportunity to become part of a caring community, where you will be supported by teachers, and you will also have excellent opportunities to advance your career during your time there.
