We are seeking an in-house Senior Privacy Lawyer for well respected international law firm. This role is to help deliver data protection compliance and advice to internal stakeholders through the Firm’s Privacy Office.We are seeking an experienced privacy lawyer to become a member of the Firm’s in-house Privacy Office who is the trusted advisor to the Firm’s practice groups and business services teams on data protection compliance matters. The Privacy Lawyer will support the Firm by providing advice and guidance on the Firm’s data protection obligations globally, as well as contributing to the delivery of compliance projects, drafting of templates, data protection impact assessments and training.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the Global DPO deliver on compliance priorities, projects and initiativesReview, prepare and provide advice on data protection agreements, including where required, standard contractual clauses, transfer impact assessments and associated documentationWork closely with the Privacy Operations team on a variety of privacy operational workstreams (e.g. data subject access requests, data incidents, Data Protection Impact Assessments)Support the Legal Department’s provision of advice to lawyers within the Firm’s practice groups in relation to the Firm’s data protection obligations globallyKeep abreast of privacy law developments and practice in the UK and EU and within other international jurisdictions where the Firm operatesRequirementsQualified lawyer in England & Wales (or another common law or European jurisdiction) with experience in-house or in private practice in the UK.Candidates must have a number of years post qualification experience.Demonstrable experience advising on data protection matters across a global organisation.CompetenciesThrives in an environment which capitalises on a strong teamwork culture.Applies pragmatic commercial thinking to every issue, and always strives to identify workable solutions that conform with the Firm’s regulatory / legal obligations and complement its business considerations and priorities.Demonstrates ingenuity and is successful at building a reputation as an efficient solution enabler.Excellent communicator (demonstrates ability to distil complex privacy concepts and relay them to internal clients / recipients clearly and succinctly, in layman’s terms where necessary).Able to entrench seamless working relationships across the Firm.Seeks to assimilate and always demonstrate, a solid understanding of the local, cultural, client, practice group, strategic or market-specific nuances or considerations.Does not shy away from complex tasks, or proactively taking on responsibility and assisting other team members.Can confidently and comfortably balance working independently with an appropriate degree of autonomy, with the need for transparency, seamless communication and co-operation with other team members.Data Privacy Recruitment LtdRecruitment services for privacy/data protection practitioners and lawyersSearch & Selection | Contract Resource | Permanent Resource | Market Information
