Job Position: Science Teacher Location: Barking and Dagenham Salary: £160 - £250 per day Start Date: October 2024 Contract Type: Maternity Cover until June 2025 A dynamic secondary school in Barking and Dagenham is seeking a passionate Science Teacher to join their vibrant team on a maternity cover basis until June 2025. As a Science Teacher, you will deliver engaging and challenging lessons across all three science disciplines, fostering a love for science in students from KS3 to KS4. Whether you’re an experienced Science Teacher or an ECT looking to develop your skills, this role offers a fantastic chance to make a real impact on students' learning and progress. Science Teacher Responsibilities: Plan and deliver high-quality science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. Teach all three sciences—Biology, Chemistry, and Physics—using innovative and engaging methods. Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development. Prepare students for GCSE exams, ensuring they meet their target grades. Manage the classroom effectively, maintaining high standards of behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment. Collaborate with colleagues in the science department to ensure the curriculum is consistently delivered. Participate in school events, parents' evenings, and staff meetings as required. Science Teacher Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. A strong background in teaching Science at secondary school level. The ability to teach all three sciences (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) up to GCSE level. Excellent communication and organisational skills. A passion for science and a commitment to student success.
