Trainee Freight Clerk

Trainee freight clerk / Ocean freight forwarder required in the West Yorkshire / Bradford area. This company is an established and growing freight forwarder. This sector is a brilliant sector to be in, all goods that enter or exit the UK needs to have set paperwork, which a freight forwarder will put in place. The freight forwarder will also plan the journey of the freight, for example, which ship to book a container slot on from China to the UK. They work with companies across the UK to import and export goods in and out of the UK. This trainee role is for the Ocean Exports department, you will be seeing the end to end exports of goods from the UK, which will give you a great opportunity to learn more. £23-24k. The role Trainee Ocean freight forwarder is an office based role, you will work with the freight forwarders and be involved in the end to end of ocean & sea exports, you will ensure all the paperwork is inplace, the bookings for the containers are done and the paperwork for the goods are listed. You will learn a CRM system like cargowise or multifreight, which many other freight forwarders use to track the door to door of freight. This role is a brilliant way to learn freight forwarding, and will include all the normal trainee ocean freight forwarder duties. Experience We are looking for a candidate who wants to learn, you will have a good understanding of geography, able to do maths (pricing & size of containers), good level of communication and attention to detail. The most important is wanting to be in this sector and wanting to learn.
