Role Description The Quantity Surveyor role purpose is to provide cost management to the business on all projects to ensure value for money for both the customer and Clarke Telecom. The role has a responsibility to ensure maximum value at the lowest possible risk to the business. Responsibilities Delivery/Contractual Management All commercial activities involved for specific assigned projects from inception to completion, including tendering/Contract sum production, the monitoring of costs and timely invoicing to the client Client Management Liaising with the client regarding receipting schedules/valuations, costing of variations during the works and production of Final accounts, in accordance with the contract and the project. Supplier Management Negotiation and management of existing subcontractors and if required sourcing new subcontractors whilst liaising with the project /operational teams Systems Working on Clarke Telecoms main data bases – Site Tracker and Navision, whilst having a good understanding excel and formulas People Liaising with the Site Delivery managers/Project managers to appoint relevant sub-contractors for each project and within defined budgets. To work along side and advise as necessary across all departments, through acquisition, design and build to ensuring projects/ sites are built within budget without quality being compromised and conducting where possible post implementation reviews with the project teams to maximise any commercial opportunity or advantage Data Production and agreement of Contract sums and Final accounts. The production of cost/value analysis reports for the projects on a monthly basis during the whole life of the project. Finance/Budget Having an understanding and work towards/exceed on delivering projects with the budget turnover and margin set out in the annual budget. To undertake any other duties which fall within the job holder’s capabilities; aligned to normal duties that management may reasonably request. To continually seek improvements in the way your function operates within the business. Some travel to other UK headquarters required. Late or weekend working may be required Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience Higher level qualifications in a numerate subject Experience of working in a commercial/build environment Good commercial acumen Good communication skills (internal external) Good negotiation skills, Ability to work under pressure Excellent time management, Good IT Skills High level with Excel (Office Suite) Supplier Relationship Management Skills Able to manage Subcontractors Well organised Have passion to succeed Analytical Delivery focused and assertive Able to work in a Team environment and an effective team player Ability to manage complexity and changing targets Salary - Competitive In return, we offer excellent career prospects, a competitive salary and career development opportunities.
