Position Overview:

We're seeking an experienced CAD Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in translating survey data into accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings, supporting our engineering projects across various water-related infrastructures. This position demands a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in AutoCAD and processing, capable of delivering high-quality technical drawings while embracing innovation and sustainability in design.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Excellence and Innovation

  • Process and analyse data from water infrastructure and environmental sites.
  • Develop 2D and 3D AutoCAD designs including site plans, piping layouts, topographical maps, and process flow diagrams.
  • Champion innovation in CAD techniques and point cloud data utilisation, promoting best practices across disciplines.

Project Support and Collaboration

  • Support Lead Engineers in producing high-quality technical drawings and 3D models.
  • Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, and environmental specialists to ensure accurate representation of site conditions.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and contribute to technological advancement discussions.

Quality Assurance and Data Management

  • Implement and adhere to quality control processes for all CAD outputs.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, client specifications, and industry regulations in all technical drawings.
  • Verify that final deliverables meet customer requirements and specifications.

Continuous Learning and Development

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in CAD software, techniques, and relevant technologies.
  • Participate in training sessions and share knowledge with team members.
  • Contribute to the company's efforts in adopting new technologies and methodologies

Qualifications:

  • Qualified to HNC level would be advantageous, but not necessary
  • Good knowledge in the use of AutoCAD & 3D modelling
  • Keen focus on quality whilst also be able to work at pace within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Working knowledge of BIM would be highly advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • UK Driving Licence
