OUTSIDE IR35 Hybrid working Wearables technology development. As a key member of the Hardware Engineering team, the Lead Compliance Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring that products meet regulatory standards set by relevant market authorities, such as CE, FCC, and ISED, for successful commercial release. In this role, the engineer will:Assist R&D teams in identifying compliance-related constraints and opportunities during the design and architecture phases:Conduct research and establish compliance requirements early in the product development process, including engaging with external third parties or notified bodies to clarify regulatory positions.Explore optimal certification strategies to ensure comprehensive use case coverage while minimizing testing efforts and associated risks.Design and execute a series of pre-compliance tests to mitigate risks and identify potential design modifications prior to embarking on the full certification campaign.Oversee the end-to-end certification process for hardware products:Gather necessary information from internal teams and suppliers to compile comprehensive technical files for hardware products.Develop detailed test plans that outline the certification requirements.Serve as the primary liaison with suppliers and testing facilities throughout the certification process.Coordinate and conduct testing at external test facilities, collaborating with the R&D team for any necessary troubleshooting.Review and critically assess test results and reports to ensure accuracy and thoroughness.Take ownership of the technical documentation and submission process:Act as the technical author responsible for preparing documentation and leading the submission and/or self-declaration process.Communicate project status and progress to Project Managers:Provide regular updates on project timelines and budgets, ensuring that the compliance activities align with the agreed schedule and financial constraints.Drive improvements in engineering processes and practices related to the Compliance function:Contribute to the enhancement or development of new processes within the Hardware team, and optimize interfaces with internal teams, external test houses, and suppliers.Please apply with an up to date CV and I can drop you a call to discuss - I can arrange for a call between us tomorrow to discuss the position in more detail ahead of the client reviewing the CV and providing feedback at 11am on Tuesday.
