Electrical Maintenance Engineer (must be time served). £54K.Week 1, Mon – Thur 6am-2pm, Friday 6am-1pm.Week 2, Mon – Thur 9.45pm – 6.15am, Fri 6.45pm – 11.45pm.Week 3, Mon – Thur 1.45pm – 10.00pm, Fri 12.45pm – 6.45pm.Job Role: A member of a team of engineers that ensures proactive response to maintenance and breakdowns on site, thus ensuring that the manufacturing team achieve compliance to the production plan, by minimising engineering downtime. Site engineering strategy is to move the engineering maintenance from a breakdown philosophy; to be achieved by supporting and coaching the effective development of Team members and Advanced Team members in their upskilling on their lines, so changing the performance and efficiency of the existing plant through continuous improvement techniques.To ensure effective, efficient and timely response to plant breakdowns with respect to site maintenance issues.To ensure that planned maintenance is completed on time and in full as per the site PPM requirements.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIESSafety, Quality, HygieneEnsure the working environment for team members is safe and suitableEnsure purchased items conform to with legislative, moral and European directive requirementsPersonally demonstrate safe behaviour and take responsibility for the management of health & safety of engineering staff and contractorsCarry out duties ensuring the site achieves and maintains required GMP standardsEnsure all work conforms to statutory & safety requirementsEnsure that risk assessments are completed and actioned.Support a culture that enhances behavioural awareness to reduce accidents and near missesReduce customer complaints and wastage through effective maintenance and continuous improvement.People Management-Operations ManagementWith manager, establish clear objective and priorities to enable manufacturing to meet operational targets.Maintain and develop close links to the Manufacturing teamsSupport and coach the effective development of Team members and advanced Team membersCarry out site maintenance activities and ensure GMP standards are reached.Responsible for monitoring, updating and improving the planned maintenance system and ensuring work planned and progressed.Updating of plant parameters/set points etc. as per site SOP’s.Ensure that plant and equipment perform to manufacture product efficiently to high quality standards.To liase, assist with training and support other departments in general running of the factory.Undertake the training of others as requiredIdentify own training needs and with manager agree a time plan for achieving this. To include Multiskilling and continued Upskilling.Continuous ImprovementContribute to and help implement continuous improvement, to enhance quality, safety, efficiency and waste reduction.To provide an innovative proactive support service to the site based on skill and experience, driving innovation for continuous improvementsParticipate in CI teams as requiredWork closely with support functions (HR, Quality, Manufacturing, Logistics and Finance) to ensure resources required are identified and communicated with all outstanding issues resolved.Communicate as required with Planning, Manufacturing and all of site to ensure projects are implemented on time, in full, within budget.Communicate daily with manager to ensure planned maintenance; engineering and production priorities are considered.Communicate as required with Engineering Stores to ensure that spares are available for planned and breakdown maintenance.Key Relationships:Reporting to the Manufacturing Team Manager (MTM)SiteCommunicate effectively and confidently to: -FGM & Site Management TeamEngineering Manager across shiftsManufacturing Management and ATMsPlanning Department to organise downtime and maintenance periodsH&S Advisor, Environmental Advisor.Promote team ethics and principles with: -InternalSite Management Team and factory operatives ExternalMaintain professional communication with: -Suppliers and contractors (as required)Decision-making AuthorityAble to: -Halt productionReplenish spares within agreed stock holding and budgetary constraintsCOMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURSCan work on own initiative and also as part of the team.Manages the team with a structured approach is open honest and leads by example following the company values.Is able to communicate at all levels within the business.Rational, logical detailed and uses a risk assessment approach to decision making.Is driven and actively challenges the status quo to drive continuous improvementDo what we say we are going to do completing task on time and accurate.Puts the needs of the customer first protecting brand integrity in decision making.
