Grid Policy Senior ManagerContract type: Permanent Working hours: Full time, flexible working hoursLocation: Whilst your base office will be in Gloucester or London, we’ll support you to work flexibly from home (providing a suite of IT equipment), whilst coming together on site to offer face to face support and collaboration on a weekly basisClosing date: 26th April Salary: Starting from 70k, negotiable depending on experience + excellent benefits Join EDF as a Grid Policy Senior Manager and you will act as the subject matter expert on grid topics whilst taking a lead role in assessing and, influencing both opportunities and mitigating grid related business risks to help facilitate the achievement of EDF’s strategic goals.  Strategy & Policy is a strategic function critical to developing and managing the business. It forms part of the Strategy and Corporate Affairs Directorate which is one of the Corporate Functions within EDF in the UK and forms a crucial business service for the Generation, New Nuclear organisations and wider EDF Group.  We’re looking for a talented Senior Manager to help develop strategic solutions, manage risks, create value and add opportunities by working closely with the businesses and building relationships with external and internal stakeholders. The opportunity… As the Grid Policy Senior Manager, you will lead on policy campaigns connected to EDF’s generation interests and growth strategy and mitigate key risk areas.  You will support the business with Grid Code compliance matters, using strategic thinking to identify solutions to complex technical issues, including both EDF’s operating generation stations and those seeking to connect. The Grid Policy Senior Manager will be an expert point of reference internally, delivering regular updates, advice, and guidance on grid policy issues, with clear recommendations and decision for action, in support of business activities.   You will successfully represent the agreed company view in key industry forums along with bilateral meetings with National Grid, the Electricity System Operator, Ofgem and Government and in addition to this, you will ensure that senior management and executive teams are briefed on grid related matters as required. What we’re looking for… We’re looking for somebody with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels to ensure complex issues are communicated simply and with impact. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential and therefore, the successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to build and maintain strong relationships and a network of contacts.   As the Grid Policy Senior Manager, you will have detailed knowledge of the energy market and in particular, industry rules and contracts. You will also be familiar with the Grid system and related policy issues and therefore you will have knowledge of operation and financing of the network companies (e.g. electricity transmission system).  With a proactive, ‘can-do’ approach you will have the ability and willingness to tackle new topics, take initiative and think innovatively.
