Senior Planner

Blue Water Recruitment are currently looking for a Senior Planner to work for a Principal Contractor based in South Wales. The suitable candidate will have a strong background with using ASTA software. You will be required to work on site and at their Head Office which is based in Cardiff. Specific Duties: * Hands-on planning, in conjunction with the project team, optimum working programme to meet project objectives covering design, procurement, enabling, construction, commissioning, handover, client key dates * Contributing to the capturing of project risks and proposing mitigating actions * Chair and minute programme, logistic and delivery workshops * Communicating within the project team to ensure they are aware of their roles in meeting the programme * Meeting/ communicating with supply chain specialists to confirm suitable method and programme for scope given project specific constraints * Monitoring and reporting progress against programmes, suggesting mitigation actions * Line management of junior planners setting them to work, monitoring the timeliness and quality of their work, providing frequent feedback and mentoring support, and undertaking appraisals as necessary * Manage time and workload to ensure deadlines are met. Highlight any potential work overload to Line Manager * Implement BIM strategy as required This position is a permanent contact that offers a competitive salary, car allowance, holiday entitlement & matched pension contributions.
