Materials Buyer

This is a supplier facing Buyer role in the Manufacturing industry, with great opportunity to engage across an international supply base to deliver value through ensuring optimal supply chain efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The position requires a deep understanding of procurement and supply chain dynamics within a Manufacturing sector. Client Details Our client in the Manufacturing industry are a leading in the production of high quality products for a range of prestige clients, known for its commitment to quality and sustainability. With operations globally, it has a robust supply chain system in place to manage the increasing demand for its product, due to restructuring an opportunity has now emerged for a Buyer with strong supplier management and contract negotiation skills to join the team reporting directly to the Senior Management Team. Description Procure materials in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets. Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact business operations. Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers. Prepare and raise purchase orders and order schedules. Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications. Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures. Conduct research for new components and suppliers. Compile data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluation.Profile A successful Buyer should have: Well established knowledge of procurement and supply chain management practices. Familiarity with Manufacturing Industry and its unique requirements. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to forge relationships with suppliers. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
