Job Title: Change ManagerRole Purpose: The Change Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing changes in line with NEC-based contracts. This role involves managing multiple contracts, including the main contractor's contract and various multi-million-pound design subcontracts. Some contracts will be administered via the online CEMAR system.The Change Manager will ensure timely issuance and responses to formal contract notices, manage all aspects of change—including early warnings and compensation events—and work closely with the client and contractor’s supply chain to ensure successful project delivery.Key Accountabilities:Lead and manage the Change Management process for the main contract and design subcontracts.Issue and respond to notices and formal contract communications in a timely manner.Ensure that all notices and communications are correctly routed to the client and subcontractors as per the main contract and subcontracts.Administer contracts efficiently, including the utilization of the CEMAR system.Collaborate with planners, commercial managers, and quantity surveyors (QSs) to forecast changes in time and cost, contributing to design program updates and cost forecasts.Maintain and update a risk register related to contract changes.Prepare and evaluate quotations for Compensation Events under the main contract.Assess Compensation Events for subcontracts, supported by the technical team and project managers.Manage system access, permissions, and authorities in alignment with senior management directives.Control scope changes to ensure design deliverables remain within budget and forecasted parameters.Resolve conflicts and disputes that arise during the change management process.Mentor and manage junior staff, including apprentices, to enhance their skills and support their career development.Provide regular and accurate reporting and forecasting to senior management.Experience/Criteria Required: Essential Qualifications:BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.Membership in RICS, ICE, or CIOB.Essential Experience/Skills:In-depth knowledge and experience with NEC contracts.Highly organized with strong attention to detail.Excellent written communication skills, particularly in drafting contractual documents.Strong team player with the ability to work effectively in an integrated team environment.Proficient in IT, especially with web-based software, Excel, and databases.Desirable Experience/Skills:Strong communication, leadership, and team management abilities.Strategic mindset, particularly in the context of change management.Experience in managing and reporting on commercial risks and opportunities.Results-oriented with a strong focus on achieving project targets.Proven experience in managing client and supplier relationships.Business acumen and awareness of customer needs.Experience in leading initiatives to achieve organizational goals.Ability to drive operational efficiencies and automate processes.Skilled in identifying and managing opportunities and threats.
