Strata Geotechnics are part of the UK's largest ground engineering company, and we are constantly looking to expand our team and find individuals who are willing to grow with us. You will also receive a hands-on experience within a dynamic and progressive company.

We are looking to recruit an experienced SI Rotary Driller to join our busy and successful Ground Investigation company. This is a full-time professional position, and qualified candidates should have experience of Rotary Coring and Rotary Open Hole Drilling.

Our projects are located throughout the UK, which will means working away from home throughout the week and you may be required to work weekends where necessary. You will be given accommodation and food allowance while working away in-line with our expenses policy.

What you'll be doing

  • Responsible for maintaining daily drill logs and equipment inspection forms
  • Attend daily site briefings
  • Required to visit Kirkby-In-Ashfield office to be briefed and debriefed at the start and end of a contract
  • Operate rotary machines for drilling and obtain high quality samples and data
  • Communicate with drivers and other site personnel to provide a safe working environment
  • Complete regular toolbox talks
  • Ensure you and your team are completing near miss reporting
  • Comply with Company Health and Safety procedures

Who we're looking for

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Land Drilling
  • Valid CPCS / CSCS card is essential

Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Proven previous experience in SI Rotary Drilling
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience in Geobore S or Sonic Drilling would be advantageous

Other Requirements:

  • Eligible to work and live in the UK
  • Flexibility to travel in the UK.
  • A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK.
