OFSTED Registered Manager for Children's Home with Learning Disabilities Salary £50,000 per annum – bonus applicable for good/outstanding Ofsted grading Hours – Full-time Location – Derby (in person) Job Description: As the Registered Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our Children's Home, providing exceptional care and support up to three young people with learning disabilities. Your role is to promote their independence, ensure their well-being, and help them reach their full potential. You will be the driving force behind a culture that prioritises the safety and well-being of each child. Leading by example, you will set high standards for both staff and young people, creating an environment where excellence thrives. We seek a proactive individual who can seamlessly step into the role, bringing a firm but fair approach to managing the home. You must be passionate about delivering high-quality care and unwavering in your commitment to our young people. Additionally, you will be dedicated to developing and training your staff, addressing concerns promptly and effectively. Key Responsibilities & Person Specification: · Manage the care of 1-3 children with learning disabilities in a residential setting. · Build strong rapport with children, setting positive examples through your engagement. · Lead and support a team of care staff, ensuring they receive excellent training. · Provide emotional support to the children. · Handle administrative tasks such as writing care plans, managing referrals, and coordinating with social workers and family members. · Maintain a thorough understanding of safeguarding processes and policies. · Keep detailed records of support provided, focusing on achieving positive outcomes. · De-escalate challenging behaviour effectively. · Work collaboratively with your team, delegating tasks as necessary. Requirements: · A caring and open-minded nature, with the willingness to work on-call. · Flexibility, understanding that this role is not limited to a 9-5 schedule. · Experience with learning disabilities (LD) and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). · At least 2 years of experience working in a residential children's setting within the last 5 years. · Experience that meets Ofsted requirements. · Ideally, experience with fit-for-purpose interviews and holding a registration. · A Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care Management and Leadership. · Preferably, a Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare. · Full clean driving license To apply for this role, you must meet the above requirements and demonstrate a strong commitment to fostering a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for our children.
