Job Title: Rural Land Management Adviser Salary: c. £38k (Dependant on Skills and Experience) plus company car or car allowance Location: Home based, covering the East region Working Hours: 35 hours per week Contract Type: Permanent The National Farmers’ Union (NFU) is the biggest farming organisation in the UK. Purpose of the role & how you will contribute: We are looking for a Rural Land Management Adviser to join our regional team in the East, supporting members on the NFU’s work on infrastructure schemes such as the Norwich to Tilbury Pylon Project and Anglian Water Pipeline Project. Your work will also focus on environment issues across Kent, East & West Sussex and Surrey, in addition to land use and infrastructure issues across the East region. You will provide expert advice to key stakeholders including members, colleagues, NFU Officeholders, Directors and Boards. You will provide technical and policy guidance to NFU members on a variety of land use, infrastructure, planning and environment issues across the region. You will develop initiatives that further our members’ interests and influence local policy on land use matters. To achieve this, you will establish strong professional networks regularly meeting with farmers, rural professionals and wider regional stakeholders. Please note that within the NFU this role internally is known as an Environment and Land Use Adviser (East Region). What you’ll bring: You will be an experienced rural professional with a real passion for agriculture, land management and rural land use policy. To connect with the farming community, you’ll be engaging, highly organised and a good communicator. Knowledge of the East region and its land-based business landscape and/or a rural surveyor or land agent experience would be advantageous in this role. Why choose us?
