Senior Structural Engineer - Marine/Offshore

We are looking for a Senior Engineer, ideally with a degree base and background in Structural Engineering Design - and some kind of exposure to the Marine / Offshore world. This person should be competent and confident in being able to take and create basic drafts and designs and turn them into Tenders, capable of winning business & attracting new clients. This role is a one-of-one opportunity, with one of the most prestigous private marine brands in the UK. This is a chance to be at the very forefront of UK Marine Engineering, over a mixed variety of projects including Offshore WIND, Ports & Harbours, Heavy-lift installation and Maritime transportation. The prospective candidate: - Will support the ongoing growth of the business tendering activities where the business are aiming to provide high-quality engineering solutions, accurate and competitive quotations, project alignment with Client requirements, risk reduction and smooth project implementation. - This person will liaise and collaborate with estimating, business development and project teams and have the support of an existing tender engineer and the wider engineering department. Role Specific Duties: The role will cover a selection of the following technical tasks, under the guidance of the Engineering Director, and the wider marine expertise within the business: ➢ Review and analyse client requirements for proposals and tenders and collaborate with cross-functional teams including estimating, business development, project, and engineering to provide high quality solutions. ➢ Provide technical input to detailed and competitive proposals and tenders. ➢ Prepare high quality sequencing drawings, calculations, concept designs, analyses, execution methods, project programmes/plans and research to tendering and FEED projects. ➢ Identify technical problems and make the necessary technical decisions within the limitations imposed by contractual requirements. ➢ Review technical specifications of vessels and approve recommendations for vessels to be used to execute the transportation, installation, or decommissioning activities. ➢ Technical support (concepts, evaluation & analysis) for execution of project requirements incl., sequencing, contractual, structural, and geotechnical issues which are reviewed by line managers. ➢ Attend, and contribute to, various meetings internally and with Client, aimed at assisting in tender/project development. ➢ Various Front End Engineering Designs, working to applicable industry codes, standards & regulations for temporary works and health and safety assessments
