Job Purpose and Objectives:
The M365 Consultant will be responsible for providing technical and architectural direction for infrastructure solutions within the organization. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure components, focusing on M365 and related technologies. The consultant will collaborate with various teams to ensure infrastructure solutions meet the business and security requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical/architectural direction to project delivery teams for infrastructure solutions.
- Develop and implement infrastructure solution designs within agreed timeframes.
- Collaborate with project teams to create operational/support documentation for infrastructure solutions.
- Develop infrastructure requirement documents to engage vendors.
- Create technology strategy and architecture roadmaps for infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure technology standards.
- Lead and document architecture and solution design for technology implementations.
- Assist with migration processes, including Active Directory, on-premise to Office 365, tenant-to-tenant migrations (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive).
Key Skills/Knowledge:
- Expertise in collaboration technologies: M365 Exchange Online, G Suite, Skype for Business, MS Exchange, Teams, and archival technologies.
- Strong knowledge of MS Active Directory, ADFS, AD Connect, Single Sign-On technologies.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Entra AD, Tenant Administration, and Enterprise App registration.
- Hands-on experience with migration: Active Directory, on-premise to Office 365, tenant-to-tenant.
- Understanding of internal and external IT security requirements.
- Familiarity with networking technologies like switches, routers, and firewalls (Optional).
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (Azure/Entra), IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS solution delivery (Optional).
- Experience with Windows/Linux server environments, VMWare, and SAN (Optional).
Experience Required:
- Minimum 10 years of experience as an M365 Architect/Consultant.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders, including program delivery, technology operations, and architecture teams.
- Experience working within enterprise architecture frameworks.
- Experience developing and presenting solution option papers and recommendations.
- Expertise in large infrastructure and network projects.
- Proficient in analyzing existing systems and recommending fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Experience with migrating legacy infrastructure to new platforms.
Special Working Conditions:
Hybrid role requiring a minimum of 2 days per week onsite in Birmingham/Leamington Spa. May involve occasional travel or on-call requirements.
