Compensation

Role and Location

This role is a full-time and hybrid for a Fundamental Research Analyst in London. The Fundamental Research Analyst will be responsible for conducting fundamental analysis of listed companies, including financial statement analysis, industry research, and company due diligence in depth. The Fundamental Research Analyst will be collaborating with the Quantitative Strategists in generating quantamentally-driven investment strategy recommendations to the Partners backed by comprehensive investment memos for integration into the firm's quantamental trading strategies.


University Requirement

Applicants must have graduated from either Oxford or Cambridge for their undergraduate studies or an international equivalent regarded generally as top 25 globally.


Qualifications

  • At least two years of professional experience in a fundamentally-driven hedge fund, equity research, investment banking, private equity, and/or proprietary trading
  • Substantive experience conducting financial statement equity analysis and sector-driven research
  • Expertise in performing deep company due diligence
  • Firm knowledge of derivatives theory, particularly equity derivatives
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and extensive financial modeling techniques
  • CFA charterholder


Desirable

  • Master’s degree from Oxford or Cambridge or an international equivalent regarded generally as top 25 globally
  • For applicants from equity research, generalists with respectable ratings on the street from a bulge bracket investment bank or a top tier boutique
  • For applicants from investment banking, M&A from a bulge bracket investment bank or a top tier boutique
  • For applicants from hedge funds, a firm with at least USD 1 billion in AUM and at least three years of longevity
  • For applicants from private equity, generalists from at least an UMM firm
  • For applicants from proprietary trading, a firm regarded generally as top tier in exclusivity
  • CAIA and FRM charterholder (in conjunction with the CFA, the "triple crown")
  • Professional experience in derivatives and quantitative strategies
  • Working knowledge of object-oriented programming
  • Expertise in robust statistics for analyzing large datasets to infer pattern recognition with R and/or MATLAB
  • MBA from LBS or INSEAD within Europe; otherwise internationally, an M7 MBA, ideally Harvard or Stanford


Partners

The successful applicant will work alongside the current Partners of the firm, Robert Kehres and Kevin Schneider. Robert Kehres formerly founded hedge fund 18 Salisbury Capital and was a quant trader at J.P. Morgan, inter alia, and graduated from Cambridge and Oxford. Kevin Schneider holds a PhD in Finance and is also a postdoctorate researcher in Finance at Cambridge, formerly in Equity Derivatives Trading at HSBC. The partners have substantial proprietary knowledge from the upper echelons of industry and academia in achieving success in derivatives and quantitative trading meshed with fundamental equity analysis.


Petronius Arbiter
