One of the world's largest automotive OEM's is currently recruiting for an Interiors Engineer with a background in Door, Headliner, Luggage Trim or Console You will have an understanding of design for customer, design for manufacture and idea generation, with a distinct focus on cost competitiveness, functional leadership, data analysis and reporting. Based in Bedfordshire, you will be part of an enthusiastic team of Development Engineers, on a contract basis
Responsibilities of the Automotive Interiors Engineer include:
Lead development of Interiors to Quality / Cost / Delivery
Preparation of detailed cost reports
Managing & Reporting the Costs v Budget & overseeing the Supplier Timing Plan
Lead concern investigations
Manage suppliers
Communicate cross-functionally with key stakeholders including Styling, Product Planning, Purchase & other Design Sections
Lifecycle cost management
Competitor and internal benchmarking
Background and Experience required for the Automotive Interiors Engineer position:
Ideally degree educated in a relevant design / engineering qualification
Previous automotive Interiors development experience
Knowledge of interior cabin parts / modules
Cost breakdown analysis skills
Knowledge of manufacturing processes
Good Communication & Reporting Skills to make Decision Analysis Tables / Matrices
Competent in CAD interrogation
Proficient in Microsoft office skills
You will hold a valid driving licence and have the capability to travel globally.
