Lead DevOps Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Lead DevOps Engineer with solid experience in AWS to assist a leading tech company on leading the transformation towards AWS from Heroku.Steadily building notoriety in their field, you’ll be the first DevOps hire in the business and work in a small engineering team of 5 to help bridge the gap between development and operations, ensuring efficient software delivery and a highly reliable infrastructure.Location | Workplace policy: Remote first with offices in MCRSalary: £70k + perksBased in a really flexible business that values product people that aren’t afraid of dealing with startups/scaleups, your expertise will be instrumental in leading the development and implementation of DevOps strategies, mentoring junior engineers, and continuously improving the overall DevOps toolchain.What you’ll be doing:Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environmentDevelop and implement a comprehensive DevOps strategy that aligns with business objectivesDesign, build, and maintain a robust and scalable CI/CD pipelineAutomate infrastructure provisioning and configuration managementChampion the use of cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)Implement and manage configuration management toolsOversee infrastructure monitoring and troubleshootingImplement and maintain infrastructure security best practicesCollaborate with development and operations teams to identify and resolve deployment issuesStay up-to-date on the latest DevOps trends and technologiesCore skills needed:Proven experience as a DevOps EngineerExpert knowledge of AWSStrong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor engineersExcellent communication and collaboration skillsIn-depth knowledge of DevOps principles and methodologiesExpertise in CI/CD tools Proficiency in scripting languagesOverall, our client is looking for someone not scared of a challenge.
