The Role – Accounts Officer Basildon Based Part-Time Are you a numbers enthusiast who enjoys working in a friendly and dynamic environment? As an Accounts Officer, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and assisting in budget preparation. Job Responsibilities Working closely alongside Sales Team members, the role will include the following: Purchase ledger Sales ledger Reconilling bank accounts Finance Reporting Performing day to day Bookkeeping tasks Ensure accurate and complete financial records are maintained in compliance with UK accounting standards and advise the Management Team regarding non-compliance. Compliance to internal workflows and procedures. Purchase Ledger Responsible for purchase ledger and a weekly payment run, seeking invoice approval where necessary. Monitor and reconcile supplier accounts on a regular basis. Generate reports detailing accounts payables status. Bank reconciliation Credit card expenses. Monitoring costs, against projects Sales Ledger Checking and posting Sales Invoices generated by the sales team Reporting inaccuracies in Sales Orders/Invoices Reporting on Customers over credit terms Generate reports detailing accounts payables status. Finance Reporting Provide the Management Team with monthly financial statements including profit and loss and balance sheets  Provide monthly sales data Verifying the accuracy of business accounts and alerting the Accounts Manager of errors Regularly ensuring data & associated documents are collated in preparation for preparing yearly accounts, meeting the submission deadline Bookkeeping Activities Ensure accurate and complete financial records are maintained in compliance with UK accounting standards Monitor and review financial transactions to ensure accuracy and consistency. Maintain a systematic and organised filing system for financial documents. Collaboratively review VAT returns Collaboratively review financial statements showing business income and expenditure Ensure accurate and complete financial records are maintained in compliance with UK accounting standards. Monitor and review financial transactions to ensure accuracy and consistency. Review VAT returns. Induction of new staff members in entry level SAGE tasks The Candidate Extensive knowledge of and at least 3 years’ experience of SAGE 50 Accounts Competent Excel Skills, to produce pivot tables and reports & charts Good attention to detail Passion for good quality work Ability to work to challenging deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously  Able to make decisions & problem solve Professional customer service skills Please note that this position is office based. The Package Salary £30,000 - £35,000 based on time, salary to be pro rata 20 hours spread over 4-5 days flexible on work times 20 days holiday rising to 22 after successful probation pro rata (6 months) Bank holidays off Christmas shut down Birthday off Medicash benefit scheme Free onsite parking
