Are you a recent graduate considering a career in teaching or educational psychology? Do you have professional or personal experience supporting with ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition)? If you would like to pursue a rewarding career working with children with complex needs, we have a fantastic opportunity supporting a specialist primary school in Salford from September 2024. Key role highlights: Monday - Friday, £425 - £550 per week, term time only. Long term role, no day-to-day supply. Gaining rewarding SEN support experience Ideal experience for aspiring teachers or educational psychologists Close to transport links, easily accessible from Manchester city centre via Bus, Train or Tram. Roles and responsibilities: Providing 1:1 support: Offering individualised attention and assistance to students with SEN, ensuring they receive the tailored guidance and support necessary for their academic and personal development. Promoting the pupil's educational, emotional, and social development: Encouraging an all-inclusive approach to student growth by addressing not only academic needs but also fostering emotional well-being and social skills, helping students build confidence and resilience. Working diligently with students who may face significant challenges or barriers to learning, employing patience, creativity, and persistence to engage and support these students effectively. Utilising a range of teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities, ensuring that each student can access and engage with the curriculum in a meaningful way. Essential requirements: Grad 4/C in English and Maths alongside previous experience working with SEN is essential. Possess a comprehensive understanding of working with students who have ASC, including experience with non-verbal pupils and proficiency in using Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and other relevant communication methods and interventions tailored to the unique needs of each student. Passionate about supporting SEN within an education setting and understanding, patient and empathetic towards learning needs. Dedicated to making a difference for each child through tailored teaching and learning.
