Quantity Surveyor

NES Fircroft are working with a leader in design and build of high integrity fire & blast protection solutions. They are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to work with them on a permanent basis from their Darlington office. You will mitigate Commercial and Financial risks on projects via the Contract wherever possible and work with the Project Teams to evaluate, maintain and forecast accurate cost and value for designated elements of projects by means of measurement, estimation, calculation, administration, contract (and subcontract) interpretation and negotiation.    Responsibilities: Identify, evaluate, process and agree variations with client and subcontractors. Compile and process applications for payment with clients and subcontractors. Produce project forecasts and end of life costs. Financial awareness of project costs and forecasting of costs through to completion & assist and monitor the contract review process. Represent the company at relevant meetings/discussions - internal / external Assist the Project Teams to ensure the projects achieve (as a minimum) budgeted margins and manage project cash flow. Ensure and maximise contract growth through the efficient cost management of the project and the variation to order process. Oversee contractual correspondence with clients and subcontractors. Identify cost trends, potential savings and commercial opportunities. Ensure variations are administered in line with the contract.
