With a production and manufacturing facility in Bromborough, Wirral, an engineering office based in Knaphill, Surrey, and a workshop facility in Aberdeen, Deepsea Technologies UK provides both diver-less and diver assisted engineered technologies for the energy sector. These technologies are bespoke designed, built and installed by Deepsea Technologies’ team in some of the harshest offshore environments. The company has over 30 years of experience in the design and delivery of pressure containing equipment and ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) tooling. This includes well established products such and Taper-Lok flanges and RetlockTM Diverless connection systems. Our client base spans the world, with approximately half of our revenue coming from overseas contracts. All new and existing contracts are managed from the UK office, with the support of a mostly European based supply chain. The bespoke nature of the equipment and services offered, requires a versatile and driven team to ensure that projects are delivered on time, and on budget. We are currently seeking an Inspection Engineer based at our Bromborough, Wirral location. Full details of the role can be found below. Responsibilities Responsibilities within this role include the following: Carry out Goods in, first off, in process and final inspection In process inspections of mechanical offshore equipment at supplier premises (requires travel) Process and approve supplier submitted manufacturing record books (MRB's) Review MRB’s for approval before submitting to client Evaluate performance of supplier MRB submission to improve process effectiveness and supplier rating Raising of quality related documentation where required such as RCCA reports Where outsourced to third party inspectors; audit, process, and link inspection reports to DTUK database. Final release inspections of mechanical offshore/subsea equipment Program and plan the calibration process to ensure all items remain in calibration Witness in process testing and review paperwork applicable upon completion of processes Process NCRs where QA/QC are required to complete Assist Supply Chain team with vendor expediting visits Produce appropriate KPI’s and metrics where appropriate Carry out detailed dimensional final inspections using hand held measuring equipment Conduct pre-release inspection and create appropriate records Discuss and resolve problems with key departments (Engineering/Production/ Projects/Supply Chain) Participate in and implement the results of risk assessments, COSHH and improvement actions Report daily progress, issues and concerns to QA/QC Manager assisting in their duties when required Complete inspections in our UK facilities. Qualifications and Experience Essential Minimum HND qualified in a relevant field or equivalent industry experience MRB auditing Dealing with non-conformance reports Desirable Basic Metrology training FARO arm use CSWIP 3.0, 3.1, 3.2 Welding Inspection NDE PCN level 2 NACE Coating Inspection qualification Overhead travelling crane The ideal candidate will have previously worked in a mechanical inspection environment with a good working knowledge of NDT and DT techniques as well as an good understanding of basic welding principles. This role will be site-based but applicants must be flexible and willing to travel to inspections, mostly within the UK but some overseas. A full UK driving licence will be advantageous.
