As a Residential Support Worker, you will: Be part of a supportive team, fostering a safe and caring living environment. Build trusting and positive relationships with children and young people. Respond to individual needs, nurturing personal development, education, and wider learning. Engage in a variety of duties, from organising activities to attending parental appointments. Use your flexibility, reliability, and adaptability to help young people make positive choices. Requirements for the Residential Support Worker: A good standard of literacy and numeracy, with basic computer literacy. Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care preferred but not essential. Recent experience supporting children or young people with additional emotional/behavioural issues or other SEN barriers (from employment, volunteering, student placements, or personal life). Excellent communication and listening skills. Strong teamwork and emotional intelligence. Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, bank holidays, and nights. Good rapport-building skills and a genuine passion for creating a safe and positive home environment for young people. Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).   Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including a relevant enhanced DBS.
