Who we're looking for.We are seeking a senior investment professional to work as a Head of Manager Selection. You will lead the manager selection / GP solutions function that source, analyse, diligence, negotiate, structure, and monitor funds and mandate investments across the private markets universe, globally.About Schroders.We're a global investment manager. What doesn't change is our commitment to helping our clients, and society, prosper.About Future Growth Capital (FGC).Future Growth Capital (FGC) will, subject to all regulatory approvals, support the objectives of the UK's Mansion House Compact, unlocking investment opportunities in private markets for millions of new pension savers to benefit from the diversification and investment return opportunities that unlisted assets can offer. In doing so, FGC aims to deploy an initial 2.5bn as part of a planned 10-20bn deployment over the next 10 years into UK and global private markets, supported by Phoenix Group's plans to invest 5% of its relevant savings products on behalf of its policyholders as well as ongoing fundraising led by both Schroders and Phoenix Group, via its Standard Life subsidiary.FGC will design and manage UK and Global multi-private asset solutions for UK insurance and pension clients providing exposure to a broader range of innovative companies and investment opportunities for millions of UK pension savers. And we have everything we need to work flexibly.What you'll do:Hands-on execution of investment activities (sourcing, analysis, preparation of investment committee papers, closing coordination) across strategies and implemented, in the main, through primaries with the ability to opportunistically pursue secondaries and co-investments; Take responsibility to deliver on the investment plans that have been agreed by the Investment Strategy Committee and overseen by the portfolio managers; Deliver expert insights based on independent research and high quality engagement with private markets managers; Collaborate with other members of the investment team (portfolio managers, direct private credit investors) on research projects which will assist in portfolio strategy decisions; Work constructively in partnership with senior investment team members on the additional build out of transaction management capabilities as the business scales; andRepresent the manager selection / GP solutions function externally, including at client meetings and pitches.The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need:Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or related field; advanced degree such asan MBA or CFA is highly regarded; Extensive experience andproven track record in private markets funds and secondaries investing with additional depth in private credit assets ranging from corporate lending, real assets lending, and specialist / opportunistic credit strategies; Cultivated and possessesa broad and active network of private markets manager relationships; Expert, hands-on investment professional used to making investment decisions and backing your own judgment; Proactive, with the ability to lead strategic initiatives alongside day-to-day responsibilities.Keen and active developer of talent; andExcellent interpersonal and communication skills; expressing complex financial and strategic concepts in a clear and concise manner.We recognise potential, whoever you are.Our purpose is to provide excellent investment performance to clients through active management.
