Senior Data Engineer (Azure / Databricks) Remote (UK-based Contractors) 6 months initial contract £600 - £625 per day (Outside IR35) Starting early November About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team on an initial 3 to 6-month contract. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines and architecture within a cutting-edge cloud environment. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for working closely with data scientists, analysts, and key stakeholders to ensure efficient and scalable data solutions are delivered. The role is fully remote but requires contractors to be based in the UK. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement scalable data solutions using Azure cloud technologies. Develop, test, and optimize data pipelines with Azure Data Factory (ADF), ensuring data flow is reliable and efficient. Work with Azure Databricks to build and optimize data transformation processes. Utilise Azure Synapse for data warehousing and analytics. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data infrastructure. Monitor and maintain data integrity and quality across all pipelines. Troubleshoot data issues and ensure the performance of the data platform meets business needs. Key Skills and Experience: Proven experience as a Senior Data Engineer with a strong focus on Azure technologies. Expertise in Azure Data Factory (ADF) for building and managing data pipelines. Proficiency in Azure Databricks, including experience with data transformation and processing. Experience with Azure Synapse for data warehousing and advanced analytics. Strong understanding of data architecture, data governance, and data quality principles. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining effective communication with the team. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Desirable Skills: Experience with Python, Spark, or other data engineering tools and technologies. Familiarity with other Azure services such as Azure SQL Database or Azure Storage.
