The Speech Den is a small, well-established, dynamic team in Gloucestershire. An independent Speech and Language Therapy service with a strong commitment to making a difference in the lives of children and young people. We work across early years settings, primary schools, and secondary schools, providing essential support to students with a variety of speech, language, and communication needs. Our team is committed to creating an inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
We have had a 'baby boom' at the Speech Den with 3 of our team currently on maternity leave.
*Role Overview:*
We are seeking passionate and experienced Speech and Language Therapists (Band 6/7 depending on experience) to join our team. The successful candidates will work across a range of educational and therapy settings, delivering high-quality assessment, and support to children and young people. You will collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualised plans that impact on the communication abilities of the children and young people we support.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, and communication needs that are holistic and demonstrate collaboration with families and professionals.
* Develop, deliver and evaluate effectiveness of support programmes for children and young people in early years, primary, and secondary settings.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support the development of speech, language and communication skills.
* Provide training and advice to early years, school staff and parents.
* Maintain accurate records and reports, adhering to professional standards and guidelines.
* Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings and contribute to the development of service-wide initiatives, including but not exclusive to training packages.
* Depending on experience/band offer supervision to other members of the team
*Qualifications and Experience:*
* Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
* HCPC registration.
* Experience working with children and young people across different age groups and educational settings.
* Specialist skills and knowledge of supporting Neuro Diverse children and young people, including assessment, and support skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
* Experience in delivering training and workshops to educators and parents.
*Desirable:*
* Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) methods.
* Experience in a secondary school-based setting.
* Experience supporting Gestalt Language Processors
* Member of relevant CEN
* Minimum 5 years post graduate experience
