The Change Manager role will play a key role in driving through a range of change initiatives right across the Trust, whether programmes (multiple projects) or single projects.

The role will be responsible for connecting the dots between what is needed, the people who need to be involved, determining the route a change project takes and then successfully delivering it.

It will require an ability to look across different teams and quickly assimilate information to understand impacts, dependencies, risk and opportunities.

It will require exceptional people skills, including negotiating, compromising and enthusing. The role will work closely with the Head of PMO who will hold ultimate accountability for governance of programmes and projects.

Key activities Lead the project management of a wide range of programmes and projects across the Trust Lead the Planning, support, facilitation of progress of activities, ensuring that delivery is on track, as well as establishing mitigating activities where risks and issues may arise. Drive delivery of projects against often challenging timelines. This role requires a proactive approach to collaborating with and managing internal and external stakeholders, ensuring delivery is achieved by the most effective and efficient means. Working with senior leaders and Head of PMO to scope and initiate projects: defining deliverables, scope and project objectives; developing project plans and project delivery teams and gathering requisite approvals Facilitating project meetings to drive progress, coordinate project activity, manage risk, issues and change Preparing and presenting reports on the progress of the programme for NCS Trust leadership Supporting project closure and transition in line with NCS Trust project governance processes

Role Specific Skills: Significant programme management and delivery experience Strong stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills Solid organisational ability, including attention to detail and multi-tasking Critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills Adaptable, able to handle ambiguity Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient in project management and other business software such as Smartsheet and Google suite

Measures of success Clarity of project outcomes, timescales and deliverables clearly understood by project participants/stakeholders High visibility of progress against plans among project/programme stakeholders Timely completion of actions and delivery of milestones Effective identification and management of risks and issues, assured by the Trust’s Risk and Assurance Manager Effective and timely resolution of issues, obstacles and inter-dependencies that could impede delivery or increase the project or programme’s delivery

Experience & Qualifications Essential: Project/Programme qualification e.g. APM, PRINCE2, MSP; experience working with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies Project/Programme Management experience in a fast paced environment Evidence of implementing a wide range of cross functional programmes and delivering tangible results Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and proactively Resilience and able to handle ambiguity Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage data and information with discretion Understanding of the Trust’s strategy and governance space

Desirable: Experience with matrix working and strong capability as a business partner in relationship building with stakeholders Knowledge of project management best practices, methodologies, and project governance principles Experience in organisational change management Government / public sector experience would be advantageous
