Grafton Recruitment is looking for a dynamic Transport Manager to join our client's team based in Hull, managing their fleet operations and supporting logistics processes.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing fleet efficiency, optimising route planning, supervising drivers and ensuring full compliance with transport regulations.
Key responsibilities are listed below:
- Manage the fleet’s daily operations, ensuring compliance with driver hours, maintenance schedules, and legal requirements.
- Lead and support the transport team, focusing on delivering top-level customer service.
- Coordinate and schedule fleet movements, ensuring documentation of all transport processes.
- People focused management professional experienced with transport team and drivers.
- Hold responsibility for the company’s operator license and ensure adherence to legal regulatory standards.
- To ensure that processes, responsibilities and ownership are clear to the team.
- Take responsibility for planning, risk management, cost control, and implementing innovative, sustainable transport solutions.
- Review and enhance the performance of the transport team regularly.
- Manage and coordinate the scheduling of a fleet of trucks.
- Ensure efficiency and minimise costs by monitoring delivery schedules.
- Collaborate with third-party providers, negotiating contracts, and managing partnerships.
- Investigate accidents, report findings, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
The ideal Candidate:
- Provide experience in a transport or logistics management role.
- Solid understanding of road transport regulations and driver compliance requirements.
- Possess valid CPC Transport Manager Qualification is essential.
- Understand Health and Safety rules.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Able to build trust and mentor team members.
- Strong problem- solving abilities and attention to detail.
