The Team & Focus of the Role Our Development Team is growing, and we’re now looking for a new Data Analyst to come and join the team! We are looking to build out and formalise our development strategies, optimise delivery and standardise processes around the Software Development Cycle. As a regulated business and member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, we take pride in the quality of our work and are always looking for opportunities for continual improvement. The development team are no different in this regard. As our business grows and adopts more systems and new methods and requirements for reporting on business intelligence and client delivery, we are looking at expanding our team to accommodate this increased demand and support the business and our clients. The right candidate will sit alongside our DBA/Data Engineer and help them with eliciting data requirements from source to destination. Additionally, they would work closely with our change team supplementing our business analysis pipeline to help shape and model data requirements for new applications and services to be developed. This role will be based in Ashby, and although we do operate a hybrid working policy, it’s essential that you’re able to commute to Ashby weekly. Our standard hours are 08:45am – 5:15pm (37.5 hours), however we’d be open to discussing flexible working requirements with minimum working hours of 30 per week. In return, beyond your base salary you will be included in: * A discretionary bonus scheme * A generous holiday scheme which commences at 25 days with a sliding scale up to 30 days plus your birthday off and two extra half days allocated for Christmas Eve & New Years Eve * Enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave * An online money saving portal and access to a 24/7 mental health & wellbeing service. * Volunteering Leave equating to 2 days per year (pro rata if you’re part-time) Duties will include: * Elicit and shape informal user data requirements into formal, documented specifications. * Aid with processes around data governance including metadata tagging and ownership identification and lineage. * Work closely with the DBA/Data Engineer to build out ETL pipelines to warehouse data from source systems and centralise access for our users. * Work closely with software developers to understand data modelling requirements and aid with the development of robust systems. * Helping with continual business and client reporting requirements. The successful candidate will have... * A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. * A strong understanding of data governance and best practices (pertaining to ISO27001). * A strong communicator, working well both within the team and the wider business. Able to document and exhibit their work. * Experience with multiple types of database management systems – Relational (SQL), NoSQL, REST APIs, Spreadsheets. * Experience with ETL tools and creation of robust pipelines through scripting. * Experience of data warehousing and best practices. * Experience of business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI).
