Front-End React Engineer

Financial Services - Front Office Trading

London - hybrid

£70,000-£90,000 + strong bonus and package


We are seeking a Front-End React Engineer to join a front office team - here, you'll combine the art of design with the art of programming, playing an active role in defining how the application looks and functions.


You will be part of a team dedicated to building tooling, applications, and platforms that support various investment teams. The technology stack is cloud-native, with front-ends built in React, and you'll join a team that prides itself on its engineering culture and best practices.


The role...

  • Develop multifaceted front-ends and UI components, balancing data density, usability, and scalability.
  • Produce high-quality, testable software.
  • Refine investment and research platforms based on business requirements.
  • Collaborate with Product, UX, and business users to implement changes effectively.


Experience...

  • At least a few years of React/TypeScript development in an enterprise environment, with exposure to complex data sets (within FinTech/Financial services)
  • Single Page Applications with React, Apollo Client, Redux, and TypeScript.
  • Strong knowledge of REST or GraphQL and WebSockets, HTTP chunked responses.
  • State management techniques
  • Understanding of JavaScript and front-end styling paradigms
  • Node.js, npm, browser dev tools
  • Testing/ TDD
  • Performance optimization
  • Knowledge of common front-end challenges
  • Exposure to interactive data visualization and component libraries
  • Experience with AWS is a plus but not mandatory
