Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one or small group support for students with a range of special educational needs. Assist with the delivery of tailored learning plans to support individual student development. Support students in accessing the curriculum and developing key skills in communication, social interactions, and independence. Manage challenging behaviours in a calm and positive manner, fostering an inclusive environment. Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to ensure that each student’s needs are being met effectively. Record and report on student progress, highlighting areas of improvement. Help with the physical care and wellbeing of students where needed (e.g., personal care, mobility support). Requirements: Recent experience working in an SEN classroom is essential. Must hold an enhanced DBS on the update service. A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to working with students with special educational needs. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Previous experience or qualifications in SEN, childcare, or education is desirable but not essential. A flexible and proactive attitude with the ability to adapt to various classroom settings and challenges.
