You will be required to work closely with managers responsible for assets in the investment portfolio, this is a key appointment for the organisation. This role has a generalist remit across the central London investment market working to deliver new opportunities into the company that are in line with our acquisition strategies and, importantly, includes those suited for Flex space. The role requires a commercial view and awareness of all investment activities across the company. The role sits complementary to the Investment Manager for Flex as it is recognised that there will be some overlap with Flex origination and underwriting and this must be managed and resourced appropriately. This will depend on subtleties of each situation (including workloads) and a collaborative, organised arrangement for this is required to ensure best output for the business – drawing on the expertise of colleagues where possible. We hire talented, unique individuals who are encouraged to collaborate, be their authentic selves and they support their colleagues to do the same.Our company valuesWe achieve more togetherWe are committed to excellenceWe are fair and inclusiveWe embrace opportunityWe value every customerA little more about the role...Key responsibilitiesProperty acquisitions:Identify appropriate new business investment opportunities for the Group either ‘on’ or ‘off’ market or in a joint venture across all current investment themes, including FlexActively contribute to the weekly investment meeting which includes preparing in advance a summary of the week’s activities and focusOversee and ensure that all registers and reporting tools are up to date, working closely with the Investment Analyst Support the Senior Investment Manager in preparing strategy and Board papersPrepare and present investment recommendations to the Executive Committee in conjunction with the Senior Investment ManagerManage the due diligence process and legal process to completion, coordinating members of the professional team (internal and external)Work closely with the wider business and technical experts both internally and externally to draw accurate conclusions in problem-solving and value-add opportunitiesProperty sales:Advise as appropriate on potential property sales and execute sales as required in conjunction with the Investment Management teamBusiness planning:Prepare the inaugural business plan, working closely with the Director of Portfolio Management and Senior Investment Manager for approval by the Executive Committee and where required, presenting to the BoardEnsure new acquisitions are handed over to the Portfolio Management and Development Management teams effectivelyProvide further business planning input as required on acquired and other investmentsValuation:Provide input into the valuation process, giving market advice and comparable evidence to ensure accuracySkills and Experience RequiredChartered surveyor5-10 years’ experience in the London investment market – City or West EndDemonstrable success in business originationStrong network of contacts within the agency and advisory communitiesCreative and commercial thinkingHigh level analytical skillsStrong on process and detailExcellent relationship-building skillsConfident and practised presenterAs a Disability Confident employer, we will ensure that a fair and proportionate number of disabled candidates that meet the minimum criteria for this position will be offered an interview.
