Hays are currently recruiting for a Technical Director for Water Projects to be based in Belfast, Northern Ireland.We are working in partnership with a world-leading design, engineering and project management organisation dedicated to engineering a better future for everyone. The company is committed to delivering end to end service to their clients across the whole life cycle from Capital, Consulting, Decommissioning, Engineering and Design, Operations and Maintenance, Project and Program management up to Project Delivery.
Your new role
Key responsibilities of Technical Director:

Take responsibility for the technical delivery and safety of multiple projects and programs, ensuring high-quality standards.

Serve as the escalation point for resolving complex technical issues.

Define the technical strategic direction for projects and bid proposals, and act as a subject-matter expert.

Champion technical excellence and continuous improvement within the practice, while ensuring quality assurance standards in design.

Collaborate with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.

Develop and manage the water engineering capabilities within practice, fostering innovation, advancing knowledge, and inspiring others.

Be a strategic partner for our clients, recognised as a go-to expert in your technical field

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful for the Technical Director role, you need must have the following qualifications and skills:

A chartered engineer

With experience leading a team of designers/engineers to deliver the projects

Comprehensive knowledge in water and /or wastewater treatment, hydraulics, storage, supply and collection systems

Familiarity with current UK design standards and working practices.
