We are committed to translating scientific research into real-world applications, ensuring that our findings have a tangible impact on human health and longevity.We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Director of Exercise Science specialising in Muscle Protein Synthesis (MPS), mitochondrial function, and metabolic health. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in advanced measurement techniques and experienced with both the theoretical and practical aspects of optimising muscle growth, metabolic health, and overall performance. This role involves conducting innovative research, developing evidence-based protocols, and translating complex scientific findings into actionable insights for diverse populations.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign research studies to explore novel strategies for enhancing muscle protein synthesis, mitochondrial function, and overall metabolic health.Develop protocols for assessing morphological and functional parameters of muscle quality using muscle biopsies, imaging techniques, and other tests.Design in-depth studies on MPS using advanced measurement techniques such as isotopic tracers and ²H2O labeling.Establish collaborations with academic and industry partners.Collaborate with experts and utilize findings from leading researchers, to ensure protocols confer to the latest scientific evidence.Identify best practices and novel interventions for improving health span and promoting longevity based on scientific evidence.Essential criteriaPh.D. in Exercise Science, Sports Medicine, Physiology, Biochemistry, Nutrition Science, or a related field.Subsequent postdoc or industry experience.Extensive experience with muscle protein synthesis measurement techniques (e.g. isotopic tracers, SUnSET, or/and ²H2O labelling).Experience with assessing muscle quality with muscle biopsies and/or imagingStrong understanding of nutrition science, including protein intake optimization, microbiome health, and anti-aging therapies.Experience with using blood lactate levels, respiratory quotient (RQ) tests, and other metrics to assess mitochondrial function and energy utilization in various training conditions.Strong interest in anti-aging and longevity research.Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently.
