Purpose of the role and your responsibilities;

The role will be responsible for the support, maintenance and development of our ArcGIS environments. The Senior GIS Analyst will work alongside our existing team to help and lead in the development and support of our ArcGIS environments.

Activities of the team/department that this role will operate in;

• Incident and problem management of application related issues including:

o Service availability challenges

o Troubleshooting and resolution of processing failures

o End user training challenges

o Development of problem resolution changes

• Change management activities (including testing) ranging from small scale amendments and service requests, to larger projects

• Proactive monitoring of associated services and architecture – addressing emerging issues early

• Close, positive and collaborative liaison with internal ICT team, end user domains, external clients and suppliers

• Manage application permissions adopting existing strategy as well as helping to define, implement and enforce Access Management protocols

• Giving advice and guidance to existing users in the shaping of their requirements for various technical solutions

• Provide subject matter expertise and end user guidance

• Carry out objectives as agreed in annual appraisal

• Assist colleagues and management with Esri GIS System Administration activities, Investigating and resolving issues within the ArcGIS enterprise environments when they arise.

• Assist colleagues and management with maintaining the ArcGIS Enterprise deployment

o Structured, integrated testing and implementation of regular releases

o Security patching of ArcGIS enterprise services and underlying server operating systems.

• Assist colleagues with Installation and configuration of ESRI ArcGIS products

• Undertake analysis of available data to enrich data sets, identify trends

• Support monitoring and performance for cyclical works including map-based monitoring and outputs

• Technical Support to teams & Business users in various aspects of GIS data and application

• Liaison with internal and external clients to promote and deliver high quality GIS solutions

• Source, prepare and maintain client geospatial data

• Build tools to automate data processing workflows

• Support the team in maintaining existing geospatial platforms, services and applications

• Engage with Stakeholders, Product Owners and divisional GIS champions to creatively solve problems

• Development of product enhancements, in association with our users, internal team and external providers

• Demonstrate focus to deliver work with professionalism and drive to learn new technologies and skills from colleagues, customers and suppliers

• Articulate ideas and contributions concisely and clearly both verbally and in writing

• Apply geospatial domain knowledge to support technical and non-technical colleagues

• Assist with GIS application designs for the mobilisation of new contracts

• Assistance in the production of technical specifications and associated documentation

Formal qualifications required;

• IT Related Education and Certification, especially in GIS services

Skills required;

Essential

• ArcGIS Pro

• Administration of ArcGIS Enterprise platform

• GIS Applications, Architecture and Development

• Microsoft Windows Server OS and Active Directory

• Office 365 technologies

• MSSQL & PostgreSQL DB and associated reporting skills

• Web Services and associated development including REST API integrations

Desirable

• Awareness and use of road maintenance/construction/civil engineering industry tools and suppliers

• Experience of development/integration with mobile solutions and other toolsets

• Linux OS

• Traffic Management Act, EToN, NRSWA and associated tools

• Supplier Management skills

• Release management best practises

• ITIL Awareness

• Use of IT Service Management tools (i.e. "helpdesk" software for the management of changes, incidents etc.)

Experience required;

• No fewer than five years working in an ArcGIS application support and development capacity

• No fewer than two years working in structured, managed ICT service environments
