Tax Manager

Job Title: Tax ManagerLocation: Welwyn Garden City (hybrid with 2 days per week in the office)Duration: 12 months + possible extensionDescriptionThe tax specialist will cover all taxes and it will have a focus on tax compliance and reporting, with opportunities to be involved in advisory aspects. The position involves working closely and in collaboration with the business and the accounting services and tax functions locally and globally as well as external tax advisers.Key responsibilities:Support the management of the direct and indirect tax compliance processes (namely corporation tax, VAT, plastics tax), which are undertaken by the in house tax team, the accounting shared services centre and/or outsourced to external tax advisers ensuring all deadlines are adhered to Support the oversight of the monthly group and annual statutory accounts reporting process as it relates to tax, which is undertaken by the accounting shared services centre ensuring all deadline are adhered toAssist the team dealing with any tax enquires or queries from HMRCSupport the team to provide tax guidance, advice and support across all taxes to the business and wider organisation Annual PSA preparation and submission (assisted by an external provider)Assist on various ad hoc tasks, projects and transactions including tax governance related issuesSupport the implementation of the Global tax policies, including transfer pricing Essential qualitiesExperience in a multinational company either in a tax function or finance area with exposure to taxes or from an accounting and tax services advisory firmProfessional qualifications in accounting and/or tax Good understanding of corporation tax and VATExperience in transfer pricing, UK R&D and Irish taxes an advantageWorks independently within guidelines and policies, with minimal guidance
