Role - Application Architect/engineer
Contract Inside IR35 Location - Glasgow Hybrid 2 days
Role Details: Key Accountabilities Ability to lead the team and design systems with distributed computing architecture, core Hadoop component (HDFS, Spark, Yarn, Map-Reuduce, Hbase, HIVE, Impala) and related technologies Technical Design and development of ETL/Hadoop and Analytics services/components Understand the end to end architecture and process flow Understand Business requirement and involvement in design discussions Result oriented approach with ability to solve issues Proficient in performance improvement & fine-tuning ETL and Hadoop implementations Conduct code reviews across projects. Takes responsibility for ensuring that build and code adhere to architectural and quality standards and policies Able to lead technical discussions in ETL Works with relevant Technology project managers and solution architects/lead solutions architect, responsible for ensuring that the technical deliverables are consistent with the original solution Promote Automation, reusable components
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications: As a Sr Data Engineer, possess excellent Knowledge of distributed computing architecture, core Hadoop component (HDFS, Spark, Yarn, Map-Reuduce, Hbase, HIVE, Impala) and related technologies Hands on experience in Spark, Scala & Java technologies Exposure to Cloudera or any other Hadoop Platform, implementing Data Lake and analytics services Proficient in DevOps/automation frameworks Can train, mentor and guide developers for scalable solutions Ability to understand business requirements and design software solutions. Quick learner; strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to deal with numerous tasks simultaneously and with frequently changing priorities. Strong data analysis skills and ability to present the findings to the business users.
Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications: • Very Good communication and organizational skills
Financial Crime or Compliance experience is preferred Role Skillset (e.g.Designer, Agile lead, Java Dev) – Key skills (most important) knowledge on backend systems , databases, integration or any backend(Python/Java etc.,) programming
